Njuri Ncheke Elders claim they didn’t support Raila.

The Meru Council of Elders has said that they do not back Raila Odinga, the presidential candidate for Azimio La Umoja.

During a press conference on Tuesday, August 23, the elders of the Njuri Ncheke said that, contrary to what was widely reported in the media, they did not support Raila.

Leaders say that they only blessed Odinga at their shrine so that he could campaign for office in the Meru community.

The elders told the people of Meru that they will back whoever is named president after the Supreme Court makes its decision.
