Former Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya has urged Raila Odinga, the head of the Azimio party, to avoid shaking hands with President William Ruto.
Oparanya pushed Raila to fight for his claimed stolen win and warned him that if he chose a handshake with Ruto, he would be left alone.
Oparanya’s remarks came amid suspicions of a handshake between Raila and Ruto.
Raila has been quite clear that he does not want a handshake, but President Ruto has suggested that Raila’s rallies are an attempt to force him to shake hands with Azimio.
The warning issued by Oparanya reflects the present state of political tension and division in Kenya.
