Eleven candidates will be interviewed by the Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC) for the IEBC selection panel, which is responsible for recruiting the chairperson and five commissioners.
The list of applicants includes former IEBC Commissioner Yusuf Nzibo and Wilfred Mutubwa, Chairman of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
Additionally, the panel will interview candidates to fill vacancies left by commissioners who resigned following their suspension by President Ruto, raising concerns about the IEBC’s ability to conduct fair elections.
Members nominated by the Law Society of Kenya and the Political Parties Liaison Committee will also sit on the selection panel.
