Patient dies after jumping from Kenyatta Hospital’s 7th floor

Date:

A tragedy has struck Kenyatta National Hospital, as 22-year-old patient Timothy Kinuthia died by suicide by jumping from the 7th floor of the hospital.

The incident occurred on March 2 at approximately 1 am when most patients were asleep, leaving hospital staff and security personnel shocked and saddened.

The exact duration of Timothy’s stay at the facility remains unclear.

The security personnel at the hospital heard a loud bang on the ground floor, prompting them to investigate.

Upon reaching the ground floor, they found Timothy had already passed away.

Police were notified of the incident and arrived at the scene, processing it before moving the body to the mortuary.

The police have not been able to determine what led Timothy to take this extreme step.

Hospital officials have reported similar incidents in the past and are making efforts to prevent such tragedies in the future.

However, the exact nature of these preventative measures is unknown at this time.

The hospital’s tragic incident highlights a disturbing trend of rising suicide rates in the country, with up to five cases reported daily.

Kenyan authorities are grappling with this issue, and calls have been made to tame the trend.

As the investigation into Timothy’s death continues, the Kenyatta National Hospital community is mourning the loss of a young life.

The incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of mental health awareness and support for those in need.
