Police have launched operation in Mai Mahiu Due to frequent robberies

    Published on

Naivasha-Mai Mahiu highway has been the focus of an increase in robberies, thus police have begun a crackdown in response.

Multiple truck drivers apparently sounded the alarm about the increase in car thefts, prompting the Naivasha office of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations to launch the operation.

According to the timeline provided by the detectives, the car thieves perform their crime, then escape to one of the neighboring countries.

Intense search and inspection will be a part of the operation to arrest gang members on the important and often-traveled highway.

The police have so far recovered more than 500 bags of sugar that were taken from a delivery truck. The truck driver was hijacked by robbers while transporting goods to the port of Mombasa.

Boxes of milk and other goods were also recovered, all of which had been taken from other trucks.
