Female leaders gathered at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Kenya to celebrate Women’s Day.
The event provided an opportunity to reflect on the progress made and honor women who have shown extraordinary courage and determination in their communities and countries.
In attendance was President William Ruto, who marked the occasion by appointing Lt. Col. Damaris Agnetta from the Kenya Army as his Aide-De-Camp (ADC).
Lt. Col. Agnetta, who has been commissioned since 2003 and has served as an Artillery officer and in the UN Observer Mission, was shadowing the President during the KICC event.
An ADC is a highly trained military officer who accompanies and assists the Commander in Chief during official functions.
At any given time, only one ADC is appointed, and they must hold the rank of Lt. Colonel or full Colonel.
