On March 10th, President William Ruto appointed Prof John Lonyangapuo, the former West Pokot Governor, as the Chairperson of the Board of Directors for the North Rift Valley Water Works Development Agency, revoking the appointment of David Chumo.
The appointment came after Lonyangapuo’s party, Kenya Union Party (KUP), won several seats in the Central Rift Valley region, and days after he announced his party’s exit from Raila Odinga’s Azimio La Umoja Coalition.

The former governor will serve for three years, beginning on March 10th until December 2025.
In other appointments, President Ruto appointed Ali Mbogo as the chairperson of the Lapsset Corridor Development Authority and Anwar Loitiptip as a member of the Lapsett Corridor Authority.

Raphael Munuve was appointed as a member of the Chairperson of the Board of the Konza Technopolis Development Authority.
These appointments were part of President Ruto’s reorganization of the government, replacing a fresh crop of appointees of former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s tenure.
