President William Ruto has given his approval to the Supplementary Appropriation Bill, also known as the National Assembly Bill No. 4 of 2023.
The bill enables the release of Kshs 200.7 billion from the Consolidated Fund for various government services until June 30, 2023.

It also contains provisions for capitation for students entering Junior Secondary School, additional teacher recruitment, and improvements to primary and secondary school infrastructure.
To ensure uninterrupted service delivery, the government has allocated more than Ksh60 billion and increased the recurrent budget by Ksh94 billion to cover outstanding bills and other pressing needs.

The bill will have a significant impact on the Ministries Departments and Agencies (MDAs) across the government.
