President Ruto to launch Nairobi River Commission to restore the city’s former glory

Date:

President William Ruto is launching the Nairobi River Commission on Wednesday, as part of his plan to restore the city to its former glory.

The commission will focus on reclaiming the rivers of Nairobi and integrating them into the city’s infrastructure, with Pamela A. Olet as chairperson and representatives from various sectors.

The launch event will be attended by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, and the commission will be financed through government funding and donations.

The commission will also review previous reports and recommendations on reclaiming the Nairobi River.

The commission members will be sworn in before the launch event and hold office for a three-year term, renewable based on performance.

President Ruto’s vision is to make Nairobi a place where businesses can thrive and people can enjoy life by cleaning up the city’s rivers and removing pollutants.

The launch of the Nairobi River Commission is a critical step towards achieving this vision.
