Public Service Commission (PSC) announces a seven-day extension to the principal secretary application deadline.
The commission’s original application due date was September 20.
PSC announced on Tuesday that the application deadline has been extended until September 27.
The PSC is responsible for making nominations and appointments of Principal Secretaries to the President in accordance with Article 155(3) (a) of the Constitution.
To qualify, candidates must have approval from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB), and the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
They must also be cleared by the Credit Reference Bureau and the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (Certificate of Good Conduct).
Applicants must have ten years of relevant professional experience, five of which must have been in a senior or top management role in the public or private sectors, and a degree from a university recognized in Kenya.
In addition, they should be able to demonstrate the qualities of leadership and honesty outlined in Article VI of the Constitution.
PSC further noted that applicants should be familiar with basic government structures and procedures.
