Raila defends Former DCI boss George Kinoti

    Published on

Raila Odinga has spoken out in defense of former DCI head George Kinoti, accusing President William Ruto’s administration of engaging in a “witch hunt.”

Even though he said they would back probes into extrajudicial executions, he made it clear that he wouldint allow the Rutos government to make it Kinoti affairs.

Raila pointed out that the investigations’ emphasis had moved from finding out who was responsible for the extrajudicial Killings to looking into Kinoti’s time in office.

“As a political entity, we hold that every individual life in Kenya is sacred. Our own people have been killed in extrajudicial killings, thus we strongly condemn them.

On the other hand, we disagree with the president’s present course of action, which appears to be motivated by a grudge towards disgraced former state officials. Ruto’s hatred for Kinoti predates even before the last general election.” Raila stated.

He also demanded that the government look into the deaths of several Kenyans who had gone missing over the years, in addition to the two Indians they were now investigating.

The two men, Mohamed Zaid and Zulfiqar Ahmed, vanished, with the police still investigating the matter to understand what really transpired as nine policemen from the defunct special service unit have been arrested in connection with the ongoing investigation.
