On Friday, a violent confrontation broke out between Pro-Azimio and Pro-UDA youths in Kisii, leaving four young folks wounded.
The clash occurred at Ram Hospital on the Daraja Moja-Nyamataro bypass when numerous youths assembled at Kisii County Assembly and confronted the UDA youth with stones.
Opposition leader Raila Odinga spoke out against the assault, calling the perpetrators “known criminals,” and accusing the government of aiding and assisting them.
Raila stated that the youngsters who had gathered at Gusii Stadium for Friday’s anti-government march were the victims of the assault and said the perpetrators of the incident must be punished.
He also cautioned that the opposition will not allow state-sponsored hooliganism to resurface in Kenya and asked people who oppose the Azimio demonstrations to confront them rather than harm their supporters.
During the clash, a police officer in riot gear was also hurt after being pelted with a stone.
