Raila Odinga, Kenya’s opposition leader, has spoken out against the “curse of election fraud,” claiming that his party has decided to fight the problem.
He also said that elections in Kenya are becoming less important.
Raila made his remarks during the Azimio rally in Kisumu, where he also said that he does not recognize Ruto as President and is not frightened of politically motivated arrests.
Raila went on to say that the Azimio brigade is devoted to fighting for issues that are important to Kenyans.
He contrasted their struggle to Kenya’s liberation battles, which resulted in a multi-party democracy, freedom, and a new constitution.
Kenya cannot be returned to the “dark days of KANU,” said Raila, vehemently opposing a future one-party state.
He went on to declare that despite the government’s efforts to intimidate him, the opposition would continue to fight for Kenyans.
Raila’s words were in reaction to the Kenyan government’s talks about establishing a one-party state.
He encouraged the government to address the problem of election fraud and declared that his party will not allow Kenya to become a one-party state.
