Raila Odinga, the Azimio movement’s leader, will head to Kisumu on Saturday to organize an anti-government demonstration at Moi Stadium.
The Azimio brigade has been organizing protests around the nation to put pressure on President William Ruto’s government, which they consider illegal.
Raila will host a consultative roundtable with Nyanza leaders prior to the gathering.
Raila will be joined at the rally by other Azimio leaders.
The gathering in Kisumu will be the sixth in a series of anti-government demonstrations planned by the Azimio coalition.
Raila expressed his willingness to fight for former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i during a rally in Kisii on Friday.
Raila said that the government planned to place guns at Matiang’i’s house during a raid at his Karen residence.
He also said that the Keroka people have shown their support for his fight for justice.
