Opposition leader and ODM party chief Raila Odinga is set to meet with the ODM county chairpersons on Friday.
The chairperson is a crucial body in the party that oversees activities at the county level and comprises prominent party members, including governors, senators, and MPs.
The meeting will be held at the Convent Hotel in Nairobi and will focus on planning party revamp activities and grassroots mobilisation initiatives.
The county chairpersons will play a critical role in the party’s planned activities in the coming days.
Raila has been ramping up his anti-government campaign, with countrywide protests expected to start next week.
He is also keen on disciplining party members who are associating with President William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza alliance.
The purge is likely to target Members of County Assemblies who have openly expressed their support for Ruto.
Raila has been steadfast in his refusal to recognise Ruto as president, maintaining that his administration is illegitimate.
The meeting with the county chairpersons caucus is expected to be a crucial step in his plans to revamp the party and consolidate its position ahead of the next general election.
