Raila warns Kenyans to expect high living costs in the next 100 days.

    Published on

Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga says the next three months would be unpleasant under President William Ruto’s government.

Raila told Bunge la Wananchi on October 11 at Jevanjee grounds that Ruto would struggle to explain why the cost of living won’t have decreased in that time, despite launching many initiatives to comfort Kenyans.

He said this time President would not be able to criticize his predecessor, former President Uhuru Kenyatta, as he did before the August 9 elections.

We’ll give them 100 days and see what happens. They used to point the finger at Uhuru, despite the fact that the previous president faced the same issues as international leaders. These difficulties are the reason Uhuru presented so many subsidies. They removed saying it will be unsustainable.

    Raila remarked.

He also questioned Ruto’s desire to reintroduce GMO food, which he said would fail since it was rejected in Europe.

The ex-premier stated that they would not accept the Cabinet’s decision because of concerns voiced by medical professionals.

These things have been around for ten years, and several European nations have rejected them despite the fact that they are more advanced. The major reason European nations refused is due to health concerns. I heard they wanted to do research. Which research will they conduct? We have rejected it. We must rise up and say no to GMOs.

    Raila emphasized.

In spite of this, he urged his supporters to be calm, saying he would hold the government accountable.
