Raphael Tuju to MC Funeral of Former Education CS George Magoha

Date:

A former Secretary General of Jubilee, Raphael Tuju, will have the honor of serving as the official emcee for the funeral services of former Education CS George Magoha. The funeral program lists Tuju as the MC for both events, taking place at Consolata Shrine Westlands on Wednesday and in Yala on Friday.

A Close Bond Beyond Politics

It comes as no surprise that Tuju was selected to lead the funeral services, as the two men shared a close friendship outside of their time in the Jubilee government. Tuju, speaking after Magoha’s passing on January 24, 2023, shared that his friend had complained of fatigue just a day before he passed.

High Spirits Until the End

Despite Magoha’s complaints of exhaustion, Tuju remembered their last meeting as being filled with high spirits and no indication of any health issues. The two men had met the day before Magoha’s passing to discuss the funeral arrangements for Magoha’s brother, and Tuju noted that his friend was in good spirits. Magoha will be laid to rest on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at his home in Umiru, Nyamnina.
