According to the latest forecast by the Kenya Meteorological Department, certain regions of the country will experience rainfall within the next seven days.
Specifically, the Rift Valley and the Lake Victoria Basin can expect rainfall of 10mm to 50mm during the first half of the forecast period, while the rest of the country will remain dry and sunny with high daytime temperatures exceeding 30°C.

Additionally, the forecast predicts low temperatures in some areas of the Highlands East of the Rift Valley and the North Rift Valley.
While the expected rainfall will come as a much-needed relief to farmers in the Rift Valley and Lake Victoria Basin who have been grappling with low crop yields due to a lack of rainfall, millions of Kenyans living in arid and semi-arid regions will continue to suffer from food scarcity due to prolonged drought.
