The gloves came off in Mombasa, as Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and President William Ruto took on the previous administration in a no-holds-barred criticism.
“They’re Talking, But We’re Doing: Gachagua Takes on Uhuru!”
Gachagua, who was launching subsidized fertilizer in Mombasa, wasn’t taking any lectures from the previous administration on performance and service delivery. He hit back at former President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Cabinet, stating that they were better off than the previous administration, given all their failures.
Gachagua praised the work ethic of his boss, President Ruto, and his team, claiming that Kenyans would see the changes in the coming month. The DP was convinced that food production was the best way to tackle the rising cost of living, which he argued the previous administration failed to address.
“Uhuru Urges Team to Focus on CBC, Not Ruto’s Jibes!”
“While not naming Ruto and Gachagua directly, Uhuru urged his team to focus on their work instead of the jibes thrown at them by the current administration. In particular, he praised his team for launching the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC), which the Ruto administration reviewed once the 5th President was sworn in.
“Let the Talking Begin: Uhuru Unfazed by Ruto and Gachagua!”
Uhuru was unfazed by the criticism, stating that people may say whatever they want to say, but CBC was not unveiled to hate or spite anyone. It was unveiled to help the children of this republic. President Ruto is yet to respond directly to his predecessor.
