Ruto sends 50 food trucks to drought-stricken areas.

In an effort to help those affected by the drought, President Ruto has just sent 50 trucks loaded with food to the affected areas.

He said that the prolonged drought has impacted 3.5 people across 23 counties and that the number is expected to rise.

Twenty thousand sacks of rice, twenty thousand bags of beans, cooking oil, and other animal feeds were loaded onto the 50 vehicles that were waved off from the State House.

According to Ruto, the next shipment of food help for drought-stricken communities will be sent out this coming Friday.

As a result of climate change, about 20 million people in East Africa and the Horn of Africa are at risk of starvation.

The United Nations issued a study on Thursday detailing the worsening food crisis in 19 countries, Kenya included.
