On Friday, Kenyan Defense Forces Day, will be celebrated at Laikipia Airbase, and President William Ruto will be there to mark the occasion.

Since he was sworn into office on September 13, 2022, this will be his first official military engagement.

Ruto serves as the Head of State and Chief of the Defense Forces.

In addition, on October 14, the Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) will commemorate 11 years since its founding.

Since October 2012, when Operation Linda Nchi was officially launched, this particular day has been celebrated annually.

KDF Day is a yearly celebration honoring the bravery and selflessness of military service members and veterans who have died in the line of duty.

In preparation for KDF Day on Friday, the Kenya Defense Forces held a free medical camp on Wednesday at the Likii Health Centre in Nanyuki.

As part of their mission, KDF medics provided a wide range of services, such as general outpatient care, Beyond Zero Cervical Cancer Screening, dental care, eye care, child welfare and nutrition, Comprehensive Care Clinic (CCC) care, and health promotion presentations.
