Safaricom Bonga Points will begin expiring in 2023.

    Published on

Safaricom has revealed that Bonga Points will now expire over time, starting on January 1, 2023.

More than ten years have passed since the loyalty program’s inception. Bonga Points are a kind of credit that can be earned by using the service. When using the Safaricom network, one Bonga Point is equal to 10 Kenyan Shillings (KES).

Many individuals nowadays have access to a lot of Bonga points but make little effort to put them to good use. This is problematic for Safaricom since the points have no worth until they are actually redeemed. These individuals still do not redeem them, and Safaricom has plans to force them to.

A person’s Bonga points will expire at some time, but that date may vary based on how many points they have earned.

This expiry session will begin in 2023.

All Bonga points that have been unused for more than three years, as of December 2019, will expire and can no longer be used.

Once points have expired, they cannot be redeemed to fully perform Lipa na Bonga purchases.

Note this adjustment and utilize your points as soon as possible.
