Sakaja orders the release of all impounded motorcycles.

On Monday, August 29, Johnson Sakaja, the governor of Nairobi, has signed his first executive order allowing the release and return of all motorcycles seized by the previous county administration.

Additionally, the governor requested that the City Inspectorate division designate official locations for boda boda riders to drop off and pick up in the Central Business District (CBD).

Following an incident where a female motorist was sexually harassed by riders along Nairobi’s Wangari Maathai Road, President Uhuru Kenyatta ordered a nationwide crackdown on rogue boda boda riders to streamline the industry. Hundreds of motorcycles were seized as a result.
