Sakaja’s new approach for Nairobi CBD hawkers

    Published on

As part of his attempt to restore order in Nairobi, Governor Johnson Sakaja has promised hawkers a new location to relocate to. The Dubois Road is a top priority.

The areas where the hawkers would be relocating, according to Sakaja, are now undergoing renovations.

During the campaigning that took place this year, Sakaja said that his government would not tear down marketplaces or force hawkers out of their bases of operations.

He made a commitment to build twenty new markets in Nairobi, one of which would be placed in Ngara, and to guarantee that every merchant will be provided with a stall.
