Goals from Jadon Sancho and Cristiano Ronaldo help Manchester United recover from their defeat against Real Sociedad.
Sancho scored in Manchester United’s 2-0 win over Sheriff Tiraspol to help off their Europa League campaign, the ideal answer to being left off the England squad.
Erik ten Hag’s side sailed to victory behind goals from Jadon Sancho (who finished a wonderful move with a scuffed shot on his left following Christian Eriksen’s reverse ball) and Cristiano Ronaldo (who scored his 699th club goal and first of the season from the penalty spot).
“Ronaldo needed that goal,” Ten Hag told MUTV. “Many times he came close, but he wanted that so much. We are happy for him and the team wanted to bring him a goal. You know that Cristiano will score a penalty.”
The result puts United in second place behind Sociedad, while Sheriff drop to third with three points each.
