Detectives at Kasarani Police Station have opened a new investigation just two weeks after the Jeff Mwathi case began. This time, they are investigating the death of Blair Muthomi, a 23-year-old who allegedly jumped off a six-story building. Muthomi’s family is calling for an investigation into whether he was pushed.
According to the apartment’s foreman, Muthomi lived with two roommates, and one of them led him to where Muthomi’s body was found. However, the roommate refused to say what had happened. The uncle of the deceased suspects foul play, as Muthomi’s internal organs were found splattered everywhere.
Muthomi’s mother eulogized her son, saying he had never shown suicidal tendencies. Mwathi’s death occurred near the same location as Muthomi’s. Mwathi’s body was seen flying from the 12th floor of a building and landing on the concrete floor minutes later on February 22, 2023. It was later discovered that the house he jumped from belonged to popular Mugithi artist Lawrence Njuguna, also known as Dj Fatxo.
Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki ordered the Directorate of Criminal Investigations to conduct a conclusive investigation after Mwathi’s death sparked public outcry.
