Residents of Nyamira County are calling for a thorough investigation into the death of a senior Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officer.
The officer was found dead with a deep cut on the right side of his head. It is still unknown whether it was a case of suicide or murder.
According to a police officer who interacted with the DCI officer before his death, he did not show any signs of distress.

The officer described him as full of life as they engaged in conversation outside a police station in the Manga area.
However, their conversation was cut short after the junior police officer rushed to the station to lower the National and police flags before 6 pm.
When he returned, the senior DCI officer was missing, and his body was later found on a cliff by colleagues who responded to a woman’s screams.
The Nyamira Police boss, James Mutigo, has deployed detectives to investigate the incident.
The deceased officer was praised by his colleagues as a determined officer who rose through the ranks to his position in the DCI unit.
The body was taken to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital Mortuary for postmortem.
