Silkeborg 2-3 West Ham

Gianluca Scamacca’s sensational goal helped West Ham to a 3-2 comeback victory over Silkeborg in Denmark. With the victory, West Ham improved to 2 wins in Europa Conference League.

Kasper Kusk’s spectacular first-time effort gave Silkeborg the lead in the fifth minute, but the Hammers equalized eight minutes later when Manuel Lanzini converted a penalty kick after Maxwel Cornet was fouled in the box.

Scamacca, who scored twice in qualifying against Silkeborg’s domestic rivals Viborg, put the Hammers ahead emphatically in the 25th minute before a Nicklas Helenius goal was disallowed for a questionable foul on West Ham goalkeeper Alphonso Areola.

Following their respective recoveries from injury, Aaron Cresswell and Dawson scored the game-winning goal thirteen minutes later from a corner kick.

David Moyes sent on Jarrod Bowen in the second half as West Ham were cruising, but a blunder from the England international allowed Silkeborg to rush forward before Soren Tengstedt slammed the ball past Areola in the 75th minute to give the hosts a lifeline.
