Over accusations of food theft, a man has been lynched in Bungoma.

The event reportedly took place in Komiriai village, Chebukuyi, Lwandanyi.

On November 7, Fred Oroni’s wife called the police to report that someone had broken into their house and stole a sufuria containing githeri intended for supper. According to reports.

After seeing their next-door neighbor, 38-year-old Fred Bakira, leave their house with the food, the locals set out to track him down.

Villagers sounded the alert, prompting residents to come out in force with pangas and other weapons.

The suspect was severely injured in the attack.

He was bleeding profusely from a wound on his neck.

The man was missing his right ear and had additional wounds on his arms and legs.

They abandoned him on the side of the road, where he eventually died from his wounds.
