Currently, the National Assembly is electing nine members to serve in the East African Legislative Assembly in Arusha.
There will be a secret ballot vote including all 349 members. Six voting booths have been set up in the plenary for members to use.
In the event of a tie, National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula has indicated that participants would have to go through the exercise again.
To ensure fairness, votes shall be cast in the order of the constituencies’ names, from Ainabkoi Consistency to Yatta.
However, Speaker declared that those with disabilities would be given first consideration.
Nominated MPs will cast their votes once the constituencies have cast theirs.
Kenya Kwanza, led by President William Ruto, has five candidates, while Azimio La Umoja has four.
