It’s a bird! It’s a plane! No, it’s just the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) transferring school heads en masse!
Yes, you heard it right, folks! Reports have been trickling in that a number of school heads in Kisii have been transferred to different schools in a bid to achieve the optimal utilization of resources and a fair distribution of the best and brightest minds in the teaching profession.
“A Normal Exercise or a Principal Purge?”
According to the TSC, these transfers are nothing new, but for those affected, it’s a different story. Chrispinus Owino, who was at the helm of Cardinal Otunga, has been transferred to St. Peter’s Mumias Boys High School in Kakamega County, while Boniface Masese, who took Igonga DOK Secondary School to new heights, has been moved to Bishop Mugendi Nyakegogi High School.
But these school heads are taking it all in stride, folks! Masese, who had a mean score of 10.24 in the 2022 KCSE examinations, is confident that he will replicate his success at his new school and improve the scores of Nyakegogi.
“The Great Principal Switch: Shaking Things Up in the Education System”
The mass transfer of school heads comes at a time when questions about the credibility of the results, particularly from Kisii, are being raised. However, the Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu has dismissed these claims and attributed the bias to the ban on ranking, which denied the public a comprehensive breakdown of the results.
So, there you have it, folks! The TSC is on the move, and the education system is set to be shaken up!
