Traffic jam caused by bus and matatu collision on Thika Road

On March 7, motorists experienced heavy traffic on Thika Road due to an accident.

The accident involved a bus and a 14-seater matatu near Muthaiga Police station.

The vehicles seemed to have crossed lanes while speeding towards Githurai 45 estate, causing the crash.

Police officers arrived quickly and cordoned off a section of the road.

Ambulances transported injured individuals to nearby hospitals.

It is unclear whether there were any fatalities.

This accident occurred amid a rising death toll from road accidents in Kenya.

In 2022, 22% of the 3,541 victims lost their lives.
