Khula Budi, best known for his role as Trevor in Citizen TV’s drama series Maria, has allegedly been arrested and detained at Karen Police Station after getting into an argument with a Nigerian man.
The incident occurred on February 11 when the foreigner allegedly assaulted the actor in front of his family, wife, and daughter at his home.
However, despite being the victim, Budi claimed that the Nigerian was able to bribe the police to detain him at the station. The actor also shared that he was wrongfully detained and refused bail by officials.
Budi has pleaded with Kenyans to spread the word about his story and make as many calls as possible to the OCS at Karen Police Station to assist him in obtaining his release.
According to the P3 form obtained by the actor, he suffered injuries to his head, neck, abdomen, and upper and lower abdomen. The document also classified the severity of the injuries as “damage,” which included any physical injury, permanent or temporary.
The actor has accused the police of tampering with the P3 form by substituting it with a blank sheet. He also blamed the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) for failing to protect him in his own country.
The actor included police station documentation, including the P3 form and OB number on social media posts.
As of the time of publication, all attempts to contact the station’s OCS had been unsuccessful.
