Two life-imprisoned inmates break out of Kerugoya prison.

    Published on

Two convicts escaped from G.K. Kerugoya jail in the early hours of Monday morning, and police in Kirinyaga are now searching for them.

At about 3:45 a.m., the prisoners who were being held on trial for murder allegedly escaped by breaking through the prison’s outer wall.

The local press was informed by John Torori, the OCPD of Kirinyaga Central, that the 2 were two of three inmates who had escaped. One, though, was quickly apprehended with the aid of the public.

The police chief called the suspects a threat to county security and urged the people to be on guard and report anybody they deem questionable to the authorities.

The police chief didn’t reveal their identities but said they were both men in their mid-30s because of the seriousness of the accusations against them.

He did, however, take notice of the fact that one of the fugitives had been injured by a gunshot from the cops who were on their chase.
