UDA Party Plans Countrywide Elections for Grassroots Officials

Date:

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party, led by President William Ruto, has announced plans to conduct countrywide elections for grassroots party officials.

In a statement released on February 24, the Party’s Secretary General Veronica Maina revealed that the UDA intends to hold the elections at some point this year.

The party will commence a mass registration exercise on March 1, 2023, to allow those interested in participating in the exercise to register as members.

The SG stated that only bonafide and registered UDA party members will be eligible to vote during the grassroots elections or be elected as UDA Party Officials.

The registration exercise will continue until April 30.

The UDA party has also urged Kenyans who wish to be party officials to take advantage of the registration exercise or risk being locked out.

Interested individuals can register online by visiting the UDA website and providing their name, email, mobile number, ID number, location details, constituency, ward, and a photo of themselves.

However, the SG did not specify the exact dates when the elections would be held.

Currently, the UDA party has 8,942,397 registered members, 2,673 coordinators, and 9,809 volunteers.

To enhance the registration of those interested in participating in the election exercise, the party will initiate a party membership registration drive.
