Uhuru pays a visit to Raila at his Karen residence after the election loss.

Published on

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Tuesday visited ODM leader Raila Odinga’s family in Karen.

Pictures of Uhuru meeting with the Azimio leader, his wife Ida, and daughter Winnie, as well as Siaya Senator-elect James Orengo and Raila presidential secretariat spokeswoman Makau Mutua, have been making the rounds online.

There was also Paul Mwangi, Raila’s attorney.

Uhuru’s son, Muhoho, was also present.

Since their handshake on March 8, 2018, which saw Uhuru support Raila as his chosen successor, the two have been very good friends.

However, Raila was defeated in the election on August 9 by William Ruto, who received 7.1 million votes to Raila’s 6.9 million.

Raila tried to change Ruto’s victory by filing a petition, but the Supreme Court turned it down the day before the visit.
