The Makadara Law Courts’ sentencing of a reckless driver and tout who were caught on camera doing a risky stunt served as a warning to drivers who flout traffic laws and endanger other road users.

While being freed, the two were given a Ksh130,000 cash bail. In contrast to the tout, who paid Ksh30,000, the driver was required to post a Ksh100,000 cash bond or Ksh200 bail.

Drivers were also cautioned not to disregard traffic laws and PSV regulations. The judge further warned that, following sentencing, the Sacco and driver’s licenses will be withdrawn and other disciplinary actions would be taken.

They were accused of driving recklessly and dangerously as well as neglecting to wear the proper uniform while on duty. Drivers should be in a blue uniform, while touts are supposed to wear a maroon one.

Driving without the required documents was another extra penalty, as was failing to present a personal photo as instructed.
The tout rejected all of the accusations made against him while He was seen attempting acrobatic tricks.

In addition to carrying people with parts of their bodies hanging outside the vehicle, the NTSA charged them with honking while on the road.
