Wendy’s parents narrate the difficult process they faced after landing with the body at JKIA.

    Published on

The parents of Hellen Wendy, a Kenyan nurse who tragically drowned in a Canadian swimming pool, have spoken of the frantic procedure they went through to bring their daughter’s remains home.

The parents expressed their disappointment to reporters immediately after touching down at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), saying that the swimming pool’s administration had refused to take responsibility for their daughter’s death.

The company apparently said that it had no responsibility for her death since the pool was unsupervised.

The lengthy paperwork procedure that Wendy’s parents had to go through in order to bring her corpse back home was a source of frustration for them.
One of the greatest challenges they had to overcome was the acquisition of Visa.

The family also expressed gratitude to Sammy Okumu, a former senatorial candidate in Kisii, for helping them get visas.

In spite of this, the family has thanked their friends in Canada and Kenya for their love and support.

According to Wendy’s parents, a committee that was established in Canada was responsible for organizing their journey, as well as the repatriation and transportation of Wendy’s corpse.

Wendy’s burial ceremony will take place on Monday, October 3rd, in Kisii.
