Winnie Odinga urges East African countries to reject GMO.

    Published on

Kenya’s EALA delegate Winnie Odinga has urged East African countries to unite in opposition to the introduction of genetically modified organisms (GMOs).

While being interviewed on Monday’s program of Spice FM, Winnie said that East African countries might independently investigate GMO foods and develop their own policies.

If you make the policy at EALA and say, Here at the EA union, this is our GMO policy, this is our research, and we have made this policy.
Before any EA country takes action on GMO, it must consult the EA policy on GMO. It is not useful to any of us if we continue to move as separate beings in this region.
Even if it is used as an intervention, what are we doing to make it less necessary in the future?

    Winnie Odinga stated.

According to Winnie, it is not the right time for Kenya to adopt GMO.

There has been an increase in the number of prominent individuals who speak out against the introduction of GMO food.
